Graphics glitches following cursor on G5

ideas causing this? i've been through @ least 3 graphics cards on mac, i'm hoping that's not problem again. but, given glitch showing in screenshots, i'm guessing problem elsewhere.

started after wiped system hard drive , did fresh install of 10.5 – doing in order fix issues, not cause new ones!

run updates 10.5.8 else updated. might fix.
