Building and running a C file in xcode thats NOT a project

i have c file wrote on windows computer , saved flash drive when double click opens xcode display cant compile or run it. there way without having go through trouble of creating new project , copying , pasting? have done principle of thing @ point. there has way this.

go terminal app , type (sans quotes) "man gcc" , read instructions there.
