Boot Camp vs Parallels

i'd clarification if possible.

if use parallels, have boot both osx , windows whatever??

if use boot camp, have choice boot either 1 or other??????
in boot camp, if want use windows whatever specific application, have boot osx first somehow "switch" on boot camp.

point i've been wanting add windows 7 mbp work , few computer baseball games strat, etc. anyway, friends telling me duel boot os's disaster , never "really good" windows experience. these both mac , windows users.

what's experience , thoughts here.
thx.

booting windows on mac

can select os boot via holding down option/alt key after startup sound. no need boot mac os x first.
, if have correct drivers, windows run pretty via boot camp, depending on mbp have , drivers. there problems trackpad , multi touch gestures far can remember.*
, if want play games, boot camp better option, due windows having access available resources. when windows run via parallels or other virtualisation software, windows not have access due sharing resources mac os x , additional layer of mac os x , parallels between windows , hardware.
