so sloooow

i running 10.7.3 on macbook 2010 2.4ghz c2d, 4gb ddr3 , 250gb hdd.
lion running pretty slow, opened itunes , took 2 minutes before play song. straight after finished playing garry's mod - matter?

have no idea why slow have 60gb of hdd filled up. thinking of reinstalling (clean install out of question), make of difference?

have used recovery verify , fix permissions etc.

ideas great help!

 

when did install lion? spotlight indexing?
