iPhone-ITunes-iMac sync and migration Question

i have signifigantly large library of music on pc. purchased imac , need migrate music oveer imac, need sync iphone has never been synced itunes anywhere. (currently no music on iphone) how move library easiest (i have external drive) , selectivly decide songs or play lists gets synced iphone?

lastly, did load songs on imac, shold remove before migrating avoid doubles or itunes recognize , not recopy songs.

copy entire itunes folder music folder , synching should fine.
