Should I backup my apps & music?

so long story short installed windows 8 , want change windows 7. reinstallation easy part because i've been planning clean pc up, have chance.

hard part backup. should backup ios apps? have 400 or , take long time. there anyway apps if don't them separate harddrive?

know on iphone/ipad if bought app can reinstall free, work on itunes pc too? app's data save or not?

same music, should or reinstall them? faster?

heard save apps , stuff onto iphones , sync , back, im not sure if works.
