What does it mean when you say "Point servers TOWARDS APPLE"

this might stupid question didn't understand in 1 of previous post when said "point servers towards apple"


i'm update iphone 4 ios5. have shsh blobs saved.. issues if decide go 4.2.1?? im doing custom ipsw redsn0w.

make itunes think talking apple, talking cydia server. server act cache shsh blobs hasn't seen, acting intermediary apple's server. registers device "on file" mechanism, means can enjoy protections of being able downgrade firmware in future if aren't jailbroken.


open file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (windows) or /etc/hosts (mac os x) , add following entry bottom of file:

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
