Worth waiting for Ivy bridge?

i planning on buying macbook air school soon, 3 years old vaio falling apart , works desktop attached external screen.

question how faster ivy bridge compared 2nd gen sandy?

know it's not sure if update macbook air @ all, not regret buying air @ wrong time.

use laptop school (office) use, play games league of legends or guitar hero, can still on 'desktop' @ home (5day boarding school, weekend @ home).

whats opinion case? worth waiting , wishing or getting now?
