Jawbone Icon - low volume problems/hard to hear

i've had problems jawbone icon bluetooth headset since got iphone 4s. volume calls while using jawbone icon low , cannot raise volume. worse in louder envionrments use primarly - i.e. car. have 2 of them , both have same problem. else see this?

should note it's loud enough hear part way call , after down hill there. i'm not sure if related sound quality problem i've heard online.
