How to best improve MacBook performance?

hi,

i've got 2008 macbook 2.4ghz 160gb hdd , 2gb ram.

know it's not going lightning fast, wondered how best speed things can't afford new computer. fine general use, runs lion smoothly, web browsing, spotify, movies etc, struggles when try process canon 50d images in aperture.

best off buying more ram, or quicker hdd? i've been thinking 1 of seagate momentus xt hybrid things. did end 1gb page outs after using aperture , photoshop on last 30 photos, don't know best upgrade.

thoughts?

 

both ram (6 gb) , ssd speed things, aperture bit graphic processor dependent, integrated graphics processor (igp) still slow component.
