Going Back To Snow Leopard from Lion

hi all,

quick question, if decide go snow leopard lion can (as understand it) wither use snow leopard disc or time machine restore.

wondered, can without losing word docs, video files, photos etc have on macbook.

guess if time machine restore (it go way was) not sure happen if reboot sl disc.

advice on how to

a)get snow leopard
and
b) keep files/mails/photos/itunes/bookmarks etc helpful

first make backup of data tmachine.

grab sl disc, format mac partition, reinstall sl.

when asked restore tm backup, plug in tm drive. that's there it.
