Best way to backup and do a clean Install

hello,
i'm new mac, , have mba 13'' i5 256gb.
use time machine.

thinking, if 1 day decide clean install, best way?

have things want keep (music, images, documents , apps).

if restore using time machine can't select files want recover, right?

ideia 2 partitions in hdd? 1 osx , other documentos, music, images?

don't use time machine @ all.

instead, use free "carboncopycloner".

create bootable clone of internal drive ccc. after have created it, test sure indeed re-boot mac.

then, boot clone, re-initialize drive, re-install clean system.

after this, can either use migration assistant restore account(s) , data, or, can use ccc "re-clone" selected items backup drive main drive.
