Apple Confirms Acquisition of Israeli Flash Memory Firm Anobit [Updated]

bloomberg reports apple has confirmed last month's news israel company had acquired flash memory firm anobit. confirmation came in form of apple's standard boilerplate statement used in addressing acquisitions, , did not include details on purchase or apple's plans company.
apple reportedly paid $400-500 million anobit, neither apple nor anobit has confirmed purchase price.

report notes anobit responsible key flash memory controller ipad , iphone, , apple opted bring company's expertise in house in order draw more heavily on anobit's expertise, increase efficiencies, , exert greater control on component important functionality of ios devices.
