package icon pops up in the dock for no apparent reason

hi all,

every once in while i'll see little package icon (the brown box green bit on top) pop in dock left of resize stripe area.

disappears before can mouse down there see is.

there logs of installed or accessed files check see is? far can tell there's nothing i'm doing should cause happen seem notice every few days.

 

i'm guessing here, maybe have app in dock stored package on disk (most apps are). if reason there slight lag in loading app's custom icon, conceivable generic package icon might pop in meantime.
