Buying 13" MBP in a few days (coming from Windows)

while skyping on year , half old hp laptop, died motherboard-death (i think) week, webcam work when wanted to... maybe 30% of time. seemed work little more on ubuntu opposed windows.

think driver-related problem? tried resolve few times still never worked 100%. admittedly, i'm not computer-smart, have feeling wouldn't have had annoying problem on mac.

give more examples of little annoyances i've had pcs on years, i'm getting @ is: i've been wanting give mac try while because of reputation of "things working."

have few "windows friends" trying talk me buying windows laptop, , wanted hear guys' thoughts are?

don't use laptop work, play. skype family overseas, watch videos, browse, store personal pictures , videos. guess i'm "light user." kind of interested in learning programming...

macbook pro... plan on getting cheapest 13" model , installing crucial 8gb memory, crucial 120gb ssd, , moving 500gb optical drive.

so... plan on first calibrating battery. after process, turn macbook off, , work installing ram, ssd , moving hdd. when boot up, do? have go apple.com , download lion , move usb , install fresh lion, because cd/dvd drive gone? or have before hardware installs , have them ready on usb when boot up?

reason have install fresh os after installing new hardware os can account new hardware in laptop, correct or totally wrong? there i'm missing in process of getting mbp set up?

sorry long post million questions. i'd appreciate advice/input.

i think 13" mbp fine fit you. but, since you're light user, 11" macbook air? it's $999. better yet, if don't need portable, mac mini $599.

anyways, not calibrate battery! apple pre-calibrates battery. not it! secondly, 8gb little overkill. light user, 4gb enough. if in adobe creative suite (photoshop, after effects), or final cut pro, 8gb good. need ssd? speed of mbp hdd plenty fine you'll doing.

won't need re-install os x new hardware register. you're wrong that. os x automatically detect it, , register it. if choose ssd anyways, need clone drive ssd. buy 2.5" enclosure, , connect ssd mbp via usb. then, use carbon copy cloner clone drive ssd. make sure close apps, , not use mbp @ while cloning! then, pop ssd mbp, , boot up. should good!
