Won an iPad2 but don't have it yet. How do I turn it into an iPad3?

howdy all,
won ipad2 64gb wifi in competition @ work. they're supposed me "in couple of weeks." while there's (very) small chance they'll me 3 instead, they'll wait until 3 out , me 2 save few bucks.

so, once it, how can turn 32gb ipad3? know can sell on ebay or craigslist, won't fetch as have week ago, , not enough cover cost of 32gb 3. apple store give me store credit it? target? sam's club?

thoughts?

 

there have been few recent posts this. previous posters had luck returning unopened apple store gift card. best route.
