Mac Pro 2,1 (2007) gfx card

this question has been asked before cannot find answer here right now..

it's time replace aging radeon hd4890 in mac pro 2,1 2007, fastest gfx card out there today can throw in without buying overpriced card apple?

 

i believe fastest non-apple card least amount of compatibility problems amd 6870.

if can hang in there few more months, might see 7000 series support in os x soon.
