sorry such fundamental question, but...i'm @ hotel , have no trouble signing macboo pro hotel's wi-fi, requires password. when try same iphone4, "finds" hotel's wi fi , gives me opportunity enter password. when that, however, doesn't seem go through , cannot "connect." i've had no problems hooking iphone "open" commercial wi fi spots no password necessary, such @ panera bread , similar locales.
so, ik missing setting or 2 somewhere?

does hotel have login page need enter info in? ask because last time hotel, saw there "login" type section under wifi settings hadn't seen before. guess came ios 5.
