i'm not sure right place this, apologize if it's not.
drive driving me crazy, client kill of files , it's been 2 days no real progress. drive spin, being mounted in osx, randomly starts rhythmic noise while trying read , gets stuck. tried old freezing method have had no progress far. accessible , working minute or 2 after put out of freezer though. used blue ice packs keep cold longer, still literally have no more 2 minutes before fails again. idea make thing last more? it's small 2,5" laptop hd shouldn't need time frozen on same time must getting hot quicker too. thinking of putting vertically in water , freezing whole thing. ideas clever people in these forums? thanx in advance
if mechanical issue little can do. try keeping drive in cold dry environment while trying extract files keeping cooler longer. "told so" not having backups lesson.
