MB to MBP hard drive swap OK?

i upgraded macbook (13-inch, aluminum, late 2008 - macbook5,1) new macbook pro (13-inch, 2.4ghz i5, late 2011 - macbookpro8,1). macbook running lion, 10.7.3. having upgraded macbook's hd 750gb 7200rpm drive, wanted use larger hd in new macbook pro start. after purchasing new machine, opened both , did hard drive swap. 750gb drive went new macbook pro , new 500gb drive went macbook. went well. both computers booted up. macbook started lion setup expected , macbook pro loaded lion , how left on macbook before swap.

began work on macbook pro noticed did not have newest efi firmware (macbook pro efi firmware update 2.3). knew because while booting off of drive, lion internet recovery not boot option. ran software update , no updates available. downloaded efi fireware update form apple.com (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1450) , when attempted install received message "this software not supported on system".

raised concerns maybe hard drive swap not best idea. macbook pro somehow, somewhere think macbook?

a screenshot of macbook pro's system report can found here - http://db.tt/mbl70iy7

reads computers current boot rom version mbp81.0047.b26 while support document (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1450) reads after updating boot rom version should mbp81.0047.b24.

advise appreciated. thank you!

personally, i'd use migration assistant on moving hd older laptop newer one. may introduce instabilities or issues.

plus using fresh install of osx guarantees if troubles occur can sure not result of use of older hd older laptop
