ok. couple day ago wanted fresh install because had leopard , lion on 2 separate partitions , wanted new lion update that'd let me use pro tools 9. had 70 some-odd gigs on leopard , rest on lion 320gb hard drive. bought macbook pro new little under year ago (mid 2011. when tried boot holding "c," got kernel panic didn't know @ time. part of reason why wanted fresh install. backed files, booted leopard cd, erase free space on hard drive, , haven't been able else since.. booting while holding c gave me panic everytime. i've checked , verified disk million times in disk utility. after erasing hard drive, saying couldn't unmount wasn't able reformat it. can't boot cd, gives me panic. sooo today.. went fry's... bought $25 kit open macbook. took out hard drive, put in enclosure, got on gf's windows pc, reformatted , erased left on hoping it'd stop saying unable unmounted.. also, took out ram, each 1 leaving 1 in both times , booted. sooo ram's not issue unless both of them "gone" reason. not hard drive because wiped cleaner baby booty.. i've been resetting pr ram whole time.. i've done forum , on net's said 18 times over.. after reformatting, i'm getting white screen gray blinking folder. after spending money on enclosure , tools wanted keep in case happened again, don't want pay $50-$60 apple fixed 1 time.. please tell me should do.
please don't tell me start c, cmd option, cmd r, boot cd, or check disk. none of these work means.. absolutely can't disk utility unless know way haven't heard of.. want done yesterday because have deadlines projects people can't fulfill because i'm wasting time means i'll more broke...
i'm going guess problem reformatted hd using windows, used ntfs file system. , running, you'll need find working mac can format drive hfs+ journaled. mbp "see" drive can have os loaded onto it.
