"Login Items" refuse to be removed - Please Help

i have tried searching apparently there prohibiting normal function of os x. there 6 login items (sys prefs->users->login items) magically reappear every reboot after deleting them. first unlock pref pane in lower right corner, makes no difference. login items happily remove list, reappear.

problem began in 10.6, , hoped upgrade lion repair ever prohibiting removal. searched via google , mr, , best suggestion found delete "apple.com.dock.plist" , "apple.com.launchservices.plist" under user/library/preferences. unfortunately did not work.

suggestions welcomed. there 1 user account on mac , admin of course.

p.s. machine friend of mines, , has been used young child responsible problem in first place.

record, repairing permissions , using onyx rebuild launchservices & shared cache removed preview list. other 3rd party apps/services still not remove
