Complaints / Gripes About My Town 2


so think town 2 community needs separate thread discuss many problems inherent in fine game love. problem trying in "anybody playing town 2?" thread purpose of thread communal bonding , meeting 1 , discussing game generally, along strategies. thread has more narrow focus. want explore problems. i'll list 5 top issues , please feel free comment , add this. of these issues booyah address, , may customers have bring attention directly.

(1) it's way hard earn bucks.

#1 complaint of playerbase. @ time, there 8 different ways earn game bucks. outsider may sound great, reality is, it's still struggle.

(a) booyah "share" - earn bucks telling people game through twitter, text, e-mail & facebook. easy way earn 3 bucks share, can each 1 once. maximum of $12 in game bucks, and that's ever gonna get.

(b) gifting bucks - requires reach level 10 on @ least 1 business. not terrible, every person gifts can give $3 day. problem is, requires 2,000 jobs on building or shell out lot of game bucks on automatic upgrades. great when there, time-consuming unless have bucks spare.

(c) franchising - unlike coins, in 25% of purchase price when franchises 1 of buildings, bucks 10% back. still windfall, tons of bucks buys business 18,000 game bucks pass along 1,800 of bucks you. however, change made booyah setting cap on bucks earned measly 50 bucks maximum. spending fortune in game bucks barely gonna lift buck count @ unless franchise lot of businesses you.

(d) daily lottery - despite booyah's claim each day give "better prizes," in reality 1 game buck day logging in if continue logging in every day. if don't, getting coins each day. big whoop.

(e) random town errands - helping townsfolk find way, free game buck along usual coins , experience. pretty rare though. count, 1 game buck every 30 errands. since errands come around once every 5 minutes, have log serious game time make real money way.

(f) "free bucks" - earn bucks satisfying terms , conditions of offer 1 of booyah's sponsors, i.e. signing credit card. did once, , never credited bucks. waste of time , possibly money , way trouble go through amount of bucks.

(g) leveling - every new level, free buck. problem is, game capped @ 50 levels. once hit level 50, no more bucks. booyah add levels @ point, it's pretty bad when consistent tried , true method of getting bucks stripped away because game designers got lazy , didn't bother extend game after 4 months of being out.

(h) buying them real money - biggest joke of them all. it's way expensive this. have pay $10 in real money buy empire state building, gives small 10% boost business incomes. $100, 1600 game bucks, , that's not close enough buy popular out-of-area business. me, mixer bar in paris (currently popular business in game) costs 32,000 in game bucks franchise. this: that's $2,000 in real money!!! freaking kidding me?

(2) the town stock exchange totally broken.

many players have realized can earn infinite coins converting businesses offices, building bunch of stock exchanges. fact is, booyah dropped ball big time here , people taking serious advantage. these problems stock exchange:

(a) it's way small. wonders take entire land parcel. stock exchange small can fit 4 of them on single parcel. allows able put down ton of them without sacrificing space.

(b) giving 20% boost of 1 building type strong wonder can bought in coins. championship stadium technically better stock exchange, costs 65 game bucks, it's larger, , it's limited edition item.

(c) it's cheap. 30,000 coins? ridiculous considering boost. 75 stock exchanges out, earning 130 million coins per building every 3 minutes. on cycle of 25 buildings, talking on 3billion in coins collectively every 3 minutes. math. that's silly stupid investment of little more 2 million coins 75 wonders.

(d) possible because of problem #4: stupid things stack, keep getting incrementally better in numbers.

solution here either make stock exchange cost bucks, make not stack, or limit 1 per town.

(3) there power issues involving many of other wonders.

main issues here statue of liberty, intergalactic spaceport, , lucky chance casino.

(a) statue of liberty - expensive wonder far @ 420 game bucks, , total ripoff. 50,000 population bonus sounds great, price high. same result buying 5 power plants, cost coins. real downside comes when @ spaceport...

(b) intergalactic spaceport - it's way , way cheap @ 80 game bucks. 20% population boost may not sound great. @ low levels when have 40,000 people, getting boost of 8,000. wonder rewards late game player. when have 400,000 people, same wonder giving 80,000 people. let's math. if buy 5 intergalactic spaceports 400 game bucks, population boost of 400,000. that's 8 times as statue of liberty less game bucks!!!

(c) lucky chance casino - 1 really, hate. first 2 unbalanced, one...just wow. literally not you. let's @ does. first off, let me start saying have spend $4 in real money acquire it. not coins, not game bucks, actual out of pocket cash. digital item in free app. i'll admit looks amazing , bought 1 because of visual kick-assness. mean, has roulette fountain in front, come on. is, gives 5% chance of getting double coins when clicking on 1 of properties. math , you'll see means 1 out of 20 buildings give double coin payout. what? that's incredibly minimal , weak, , no other wonder so, little. if 1 of buildings produced enough coins make effect decent (for instance, have lot of stock exchanges), getting many coins "bonus" irrelevant. if buildings producing 150 or 200 coins pop (pretty typical), 150 or 200 coins 1 out of every 20 times click plain pathetic.

(4) there's not enough land expand adequately.

booyah has , continue rectify problem, main issue have here is, @ damn size of map. booyah making our towns 10 times size , still have more room expand. why limiting , imposing lengthy wait times until releasing more plots? folly is, every holiday or big event, releasing special items, not more land. plenty of players don't bother building roads. why? because take damn room on map. in game object build dream town, can't building roads if want keep dropping businesses , homes / community buildings , decorations. that's utter insanity. give tools need succeed instead of imposing artificial limitations , handicaps.

(5) there's not enough choices make distinctively different towns 1 another.

minor gripe, still worth addressing. yes, there lot of choices choose when building, it's not enough. many of these towns same, because many cool items bucks-only , therefore prohibitive. , of them plain suck nobody waste space on them. people should not building condos , high-rise condos when placing housing, kind of have because homes give best population / income boost price. yes, townhouses , lofts may better , give flavor, subpar buildings not used much.

use lot of "crap" buildings apartments , victorians because fit themes, competitive player, make no sense. people should not have towns full of subways , military barracks these small , give big boosts, players ignore sacrificing vision , creativity. makes sense raising population can maximize businesses.

also, missing major things flesh out towns. here's few:

- chain link fences
- beaches
- tractors
- water spaces
- natural objects such hills, mountains, , lakes
- bridges
- two-lane roads
- more street signs such yield , caution
