Chances of next MBP having no optical by two drives (likely 1 m-sata and 1 hdd bay)

hello, i'm possibly thinking of switching mac laptop next purchase. granted being computer engineer, running version of linux on majority of time, buying hw.

ther 1 requirement must have laptop use. must have place 2 internal drives, 1 being os/swap/apps ssd, while other being larger capacity spindle hdd. it's not helpful in achieving hig capacity , low storage latency/high throughput; helpful in storing certainimportant files redundantly, without need resort external usb drive.

laptop have 1 of few relatively svelty , light offered such option, hp envy 15; omits optical has 2 hdd mounts. 1 had before thinkpad t60, had modularized bay took either optical drive or hdd. i'm wondering how next wave of mbp offer such option, mean having 2 internal drives, while omitting optical bay keep size , weight in check.

insight helpful.
