Strange behavior and migrating from old to new

i have original ipad , moving 'new' ipad , have couple of questions:

1) every , them ipad 1 drop out of current app , go home screen. if relaunch app i'm was. happens in different apps. ipad has latest 5.1 ios - seemed start when upgraded 5. never done full reset. want pass 1 on suggestions prevent this?

2) did new activation on 'new' ipad did not want migrate problem above. there way migrate on email settings , email history?
