Messages for Mac History

so today turned mac on , opened messages, took messages 10 minutes pull in updated chats...weird.

noticed can't remove past conversations. if delete or clear transcript , delete history comes once open messages again. there file holds this? see eating disk space after while. share videos , photos iphone.

suggestions?

 

found it, in ~library/messages
