audio problems with VLC player?

hi, have been using older version of vlc no problems year on 1.25 mhz g4 powerbook, since upgraded latest version of vlc play videos audio stutters (for lack of better word).

has else noticed this? need know settings might correct or should replace older version (which can track down online again)???

the new version has larger resource reiquirement, try downloading , older vesion here, down near bottom of page.
