mac displays vs hdtvs

i looking @ buying mac pro,and curious of type of display get. using photography. have used imac have been told using 1080 flat screen think?

 

if mean hdtvs !1080p flatscreen" stay away tvs, not monitors.
if serious photography, should ips displays, dell u2412m not money.
there of course other ips monitors out there, dell 1 of more affordable one, can had 800 3000 usd.
, again, tv, regardless of resolution (and bigger diagonal worse quality), not computer monitor.
