Can't restore Ipod 4g from IOS 5.0.1

hey there, after not using ipod long while decided try siri addon cydia on once got point go settings download website. once tried didn't work , settings shows me nothing background. after numerous reboots decided try , restore ipod itunes told me couldn't connect itunes update server. internet settings have been same while , ive been able update. don't think problem, can shine light on whats going wrong , preventing me restoring welcome.

please asap.

 

you can't restore 5.0.1. apple has stopped signing ios 5.0.1 can restore 5.1 in loose jailbreak.
