AT&T MicroCell with Unlocked iPhone 4s?

does unlocked iphone purchased directly through apple work at&t microcell? had read doesn't work unlocked phones at&t sells 4s. can see not working galaxy nexus gsm since don't sell phone. using microcell at&t , unlocked iphone can please share?
