longtime member here bird photography. wife , heading europe summer , think great chance change photography style i've loved macro, landscape, , in between captures feel of city. in paris , rome walking around days. want 1 lens/camera , think no flash or tripod ultimate portability. right use xsi , 400mm lens birds i'm thinking of getting 5d mk ii (used) going pretty on craigslist , great camera. here's big decision: lens get?
3 choices:
1. 24-70 f/2.8 mk i
2. 24-105 f/4 is
3. 16-35 f/2.8 mk ii
i'm leaning toward 1 , 3 love low light , see myself taking lots of wide angles not have flash or tripod. in terms of 24-70 vs 24-105 debate i've kind of enjoyed 24-70 more when i've borrowed main concern if wide enough city usage. else have input carry around lens cities of europe?
i guess depends on taking pictures of, , how many shots. mean, take pics of eiffel tower afar, or right beneath it, or vatican city basilica. have 12-24mm wide angle going 24-70mm, thats me!
