i have mac pro tower looking convert server, media. plan run headless connected directly via ethernet. can install snow leopard server, right has sl. want access drive outside of network, on vacation or @ work. i'd love mount on desktop idisk did. can done? i've heard use file sharing , connect ip. second, if works, can option-click itunes when attached , read itunes folder server if local folder? thanks!
you can use mac feture of icloud if install lion. allow gain access drive on wan. not open port , allow connect via ip thats big security risk. don't need server version of os this.
itunes hold option , access itunes library. speed on wan slow it's not worth it.
