Mac Newbie - Some Miscellaneous Questions

hi guys...

i've had mba since christmas , first mac, i'm still trying figure out things:

1) downloaded handbrake web , placed app icon on desktop , dragged applications folder, in finder. however, when bring launchpad it's not showing there. applications show there (aside preinstalled ones) ones downloaded directly mac appstore. -- there way make handbrake app show in launchpad along rest?

2) also, 1 of few lucky people able download original handy light iphone app while available in appstore. can share 3g network mac , pull web pages notice sites allow webcam sharing don't work. also, ichat, aim, msn messenger...none of connect internet, apparently. -- else uses handy light experience this, or know of way fix issue?

3) thing can't figure out how remove/hide/disable little ichat icon on top menu bar, , it's driving me nuts! i've noticed quitting ichat doesn't make go away. -- there way rid of it?




if can of these issues, appreciated! in advance!

hold command key , drag off. or go ichat > preferences > general > show status in menu bar (uncheck)
