After updating to IOS 5.0.1, my Factory Unlocked Iphone became LOCKED

i purchased factory unlocked iphone 4 in canada (mc604c) when update ios 5.0.1, locked again.

far know, when iphone factory unlocked, unlocked forever no matter how many times update version.

called apple. admit iphone factory unlocked , assist me easy steps putting in , out sim card, turn off phone, ect. iphone still required valid sim card supported carrier activate.

point is, why need valid sim card canadian carrier since iphone factory unlocked , supposed work sim?

asked apple. know problem. confirmed iphone factory unlocked , way me contact carrier provide iphone. "if unlocked , locked again, call carrier unlock it. apple can't it. can't it. retail store or carrier provide iphone 4 can it". that's said.

point i'm not in canada now. carrier fido. , have paid $50 unlock it. mean i'll have pay $50 unlocked again?

old version before updating 4.3.2, baseband 03.10.01.

can me problem? can in canada call fido service work out me? please...

if paid $50 unlocked wasn't factory unlocked.
