12 inch PowerBook G4

i did 7 step wipe of 12 inch 1.33 ghz silver powerbook g4. in attempting partition 75 gig hd , reinstall original os have been getting handful of problems including: machine freezes while installing original software 10.5 software try install, tends give me backtrace terminated frame not mapped kernel panic error. have tried wipe disk again start scratch freezes well. yesterday thought did re-wipe hd not see hd inside disk utility. morning see disk when trying partition hd freezes (just sits there never crashing). there crafty move try save old timer or time give ghost? help.

 

it 1 of 2 things. hard drive dieing or have bad bad ram stick.
