i got research grant of $40k buy personal (super)computer, , anxious possibility of mac-pro update. prefer mac, right there no options memory upgrades above 64gb, or processor upgrades beyond 12 cores.
know mac pro upgraded or killed in relatively near future. assuming upgraded,
know how upgraded mac pro expandable >=128gb memory?
there hardware-fixes expand current generation mac pros beyond 64gb of memory?
also, know if mac pros (current or possible upgrades thereof) compatible nvidia's tesla gpus?
, finally, i'd appreciate advice regarding how long should wait upgrade before investing.

if have 40k , want mac pro highly advise waiting current mac pros 2010 , 2012. new mac pro max of 16 core 128 gb of ram( maybe 96) , faster ssds , faster graphics. if u need mac pro wait.
on other hand if u have 40k blow iw udnt suggest mac pro dud suggest sun server or super computer. though mac pro fast pro computer not super computer. dud never spend 40k on machine technology moves fast in 2 years purchase u make obsolete
wud not recommend pro super computer u realize job requires 40k computer not labeled pro super
