Iphoto won't open

hello,

i'm having issue opening iphoto. error message looks this:


add copy of iphoto on external hard drive. found version of iphoto on same drive , able update not complete i'm guessing it's old copy.

know how open 1 says need upgrade iphoto. note i'm running lion computer few months old.
