Region code free external DVD drive?

do here has experience buying external dvd drive , flashing firmware can dvds anywhere in world?
live in europe , have lot of r1 dvds can't watch these on mac.

 

this highly dependent on model of drive , whether region-free firmware available flash it. suggest peruse cdfreaks/myce , rpc1 forums before think buying anything.
