Original CDs/DVDs

have bought macbook white friend, without original cds (the grey ones).
basically, matters ?

because thaught does, have reached apple online store phone , ask them if can provide them me... , actually, bit wondering answer. man began explain me upgrade on mac must done step step, , can't switch 10.4 directly 10.7. okay, wasn't question.
so, after precise thaught, said me cds doesn't exist anymore macs, , if want, can directly buy retail version of os.

so, think without example grey cds, if need restore something, or check something, retail version of 10.6 sufficient ?


if need grey cds, have question : mac bought doesn't come country live in. example, if can find suitable cds in country, germany, suitable french or macbook ?

the mac os x 10.6 snow leopard upgrade dvd 29 € working retail dvd , not need prior version of mac os x installed, works intel macs coming 10.4 , 10.5 , 10.6, 10.6.1 , 10.6.2.
dvd includes languages.
