Flash DESTROYS my MBP

heya. i've been searching around google, can find 2 year old threads. basically, have 2011 mbp, , installed flash on it. thing is, whenever load video on youtube or something, safari hangs , becomes unresponsive until after video has buffered out, , playback choppy. restarting mac or reinstalling flash fixes little while, problem comes again. common issue? can done?
