Changing a hard drive and RAM on early 2008 Macbook pro


i have few questions changing out hard drive , ram on 2008 15 inch macbook pro. ordered these 3 items.

4.0gb pc-5300 ddr2 667mhz so-dimm 200 pin memory upgrade module macbook(late 2007/early 2008, macbook pro(mid/late 2007, 2008), , imac (late 2007) systems core 2 duo santa rosa or penryn processor.

2.0gb pc-5300 ddr2 667mhz so-dimm 200 pin memory upgrade module macbook, macbook pro, imac intel, , mac mini models core 2 duo processor.

diy upgrade bundle: 1.0tb wd scorpio blue 5400rpm 2.5" sata hd 8mb cache, owc express usb 2.0 kit + includes owc 5 piece tool kit.

questions are:

1. should use carbon copy cloner clone external 1tb hd prior installing it?

2. once installed after cloned, boot original hard drive did?

3. there better option no. 1?

4. time machine same thing carbon copy cloner?

5. need install operating system disc, snow leopard or lion or creating clone of new hard drive take care of step.

6. when changing out ram, there other steps involved installation, other mechanical removal , replacement new ram?

1) can use ccc, it's 1 of couple options have.
2) yes.
3) better subjective. ccc works fine.
4) no.
5) not if use ccc.
6) changing ram easy. seems you've got right idea.
