Shared Apps

hi thank great forum, have imac 27 , mac book pro.
new apple user, share both partner, have separtate log in, how share app's between , instead of loading open office , other apps twice can share commen install , hate thought of duplication , waste of disk see how this.

when install app, it's available users of computer default, unless specify otherwise. can't, share apps between computers.
