Will the 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display work with my MBP?

i have macbook pro 2009 mini displayport video out. i’d buy apple’s 27" cinema display not sure if thunderbolt version work mbp. wondering:

1. possible use 27" thunderbolt display older mbp? display have mini displayport or there thunderbolt mini displayport converters available?

2. main differences between 27” led cinema display , thunderbolt display?

think i’m stuck in bind because i’d work current mbp (in addition future mbps) don’t want spend $1000 old technology.

no, thunderbolt displays can used 2011 macs. (no mac pro).

differences led cinema display firewire 800, gigabit ethernet , of course thunderbolt port , cable. plus, need plug in usb on led cinema display usb hub work. atd, thunderbolt cable. other ports, displays identical.

cinema display work mac's mini displayport. thunderbolt display has have thunderbolt port.
