Mac compatible camera.

i know little video cameras , looking inexpensive, less $250 make videos of landscapes , dogs, nothing published.
on amazon , found 1 fill bill when read reviews 1 said not compatible mac. , had kind of things , use different software edit film , move mac.
naive thought same video camera digital cameras, pull sd card , put card reader , load either imovie or idvd instead of iphoto camera. not case? don't want buy editing software not going make real movies stuff own records of our travels , personal stuff.
if can recommend camera fill needs appreciate post information.

 

can give brand , model of cam saw? it's not camera incompatible... user.

workflow described basic workflow works cameras use avchd format. can make step of copying complete card desktop in-between (for safety , speed).
