Experiencing some oddities with Safari

i'm on 10.7.2 , using safari 5.1.2.

few minutes ago, opened new window in safari , download showed up. small , showing php in downloads folder, it's cookie. doesn't happen time sites causing happen, apple's own site.

i've checked preferences in safari , looks same. don't think inadvertently hit command either.

it's not cookie, don't show in downloads folder. it's possibly drive-by download.

performance , security, make following selections in safari preferences:

• general > "new windows open with:" empty page
• general > "new tabs open with:" empty page
• general > open "safe files after downloading (uncheck this)
• security > enable java (uncheck this)

delete downloads folder didn't intentionally download.
