How to view NAS Drive videos through Iphone TV Out

i have problem playing transferred home movies on flat screen tv through “tv out” feature of iphone 4.

have captured tb worth of various home movie videos vhs tape pc hard drive. converted these avi files m4v play on iphone & itunes. copied these m4v video files western digital “my book live” nas drive allows me view video using iphone, via wd app, without using iphone internal memory.

problem cannot play these videos through “tv out” on iphone when connected flat screen tv. apple techs told me tv out videos recorded iphone , stored in internal memory of iphone.

question is: there way access nas drive (which has videos stored) , play videos on flat screen tv via iphone tv out cable hook-up?

advice appreciated i’m driving myself nuts on this.
