Apple Loses Appeal in Italian Warranty Disclosures Case

last year, apple fined $1.2 million in italy on how company advertises warranty customers. italy's antitrust regulators ruled apple has not been providing adequate disclosures 2 free years of product warranty assistance required under italian law, while pushing customers purchase applecare extended warranties without disclosing many of benefits overlap standard warranty.

pointed out @settebit, apple has lost appeal [google translate] in case. there followup hearing on may 9th. in meantime, apple have pay eur900,000 fine assessed italian antitrust authority.

apple added disclosures italian online store address court's concerns, after initial ruling. it's unclear if returning part of appeals court's decision.

comes on heels of series of letters sent earlier week european union regulators consumers groups in 11 countries asking action against apple regarding warranty practices.

how? if standard warranty law in italy why apple's job make sure public knows of this? isn't part of government's job?
