Any way to prevent access to TimeMachine folder?

when got mbp upgraded hard drive myself , began using stock drive tm volume.

left intact boot volume in case ever hard take in repairs.

well, time has come.

brings me question in thread title.

there way can temporarily lock down tm folder while (original) drive in system?

encrypted disc images can big, right? it's gotten pretty huge folder.....

 

according , there isn't limit size far encrypted disk image concerned.
