After installing updates-Removing user-opens to Welcome screen

as title says, setting computer relative , since time worked apple, have forgotton terminal commands remove test user set , reverting welcome screen new user can set machine scratch. looked around here , could't locate pertaining specific issue using 10.7.x. not sure if process changed since 10.4 or 10.5 hope on here can assist me.
