Why not Music?

apple has made possible create , sell iphone/ipad app, e-book, and/or mac software through "i-stores".
why not music/songs? independent artists , bands must have "a middleman", such record label, cd baby, or tunecore in.

wouldn't make apple gazillion $$$ if allow every local band upload , sell tunes directly, while apple takes 30%, , rid of middleman altogether?

 

because of trash, of apps , books.
